Ontological Term Details

Compound
FDB016251 (Iron)
Term
Lumiracoxib Action Pathway
Definition
the mechanism of action of lumiracoxib is thought to be due to its ability to block prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase 2 (cox-2), also called prostaglandin g/h synthase 2. cox-2 catalyze the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin g2 and prostaglandin g2 to prostglandin h2.
Parent Term

Parent Definition
A linked series of chemical reactions that occur in a defined order within or between organism cells, and lead to a known function or end product.
