Ketones that have one or more alpha-hydrogen atoms undergo keto-enol tautomerization, the tautomer being an enol. 6,10-dimethylundecan-2-one is practically insoluble (in water) and an extremely weak acidic compound (based on its pKa). 6,10-dimethylundecan-2-one can be found in tea, which makes 6,10-dimethylundecan-2-one a potential biomarker for the consumption of this food product.
