Description2,6-dimethylocta-cis-2,7-diene-1,6-diol is a member of the class of compounds known as acyclic monoterpenoids. Acyclic monoterpenoids are monoterpenes that do not contain a cycle. 2,6-dimethylocta-cis-2,7-diene-1,6-diol is slightly soluble (in water) and an extremely weak acidic compound (based on its pKa). 2,6-dimethylocta-cis-2,7-diene-1,6-diol can be found in papaya, which makes 2,6-dimethylocta-cis-2,7-diene-1,6-diol a potential biomarker for the consumption of this food product.
