Chemical Information
FooDB NameGlutamyltyrosine
DescriptionGlutamyltyrosine, also known as alpha-glu-tyr or E-Y, is a member of the class of compounds known as dipeptides. Dipeptides are organic compounds containing a sequence of exactly two alpha-amino acids joined by a peptide bond. Glutamyltyrosine is practically insoluble (in water) and a weakly acidic compound (based on its pKa). Glutamyltyrosine can be found in soy bean, which makes glutamyltyrosine a potential biomarker for the consumption of this food product. Glutamyltyrosine can be found primarily in feces.
