Chemical Information
FooDB NameKaempferol 3-O-alpha-L-galactoside
DescriptionKaempferol 3-o-alpha-l-galactoside is a member of the class of compounds known as flavonoid-3-o-glycosides. Flavonoid-3-o-glycosides are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C3-position. Kaempferol 3-o-alpha-l-galactoside is slightly soluble (in water) and a very weakly acidic compound (based on its pKa). Kaempferol 3-o-alpha-l-galactoside can be found in corn and sweet bay, which makes kaempferol 3-o-alpha-l-galactoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these food products.
