Chemical Information
FooDB NameCyanidin 4'-glucoside
DescriptionCyanidin 4'-glucoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as anthocyanins. These are organic compounds containing a flavylium ion or 2-phenylchromenylium based skeleton bound to a sugar. Cyanidin 4'-glucoside has been detected, but not quantified in, a few different foods, such as garden onions (Allium cepa), green vegetables, and okras (Abelmoschus esculentus). This could make cyanidin 4'-glucoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review a significant number of articles have been published on Cyanidin 4'-glucoside.
