Chemical Information
FooDB NameIsogingerenone B
DescriptionIsogingerenone B belongs to the class of organic compounds known as linear diarylheptanoids. These are diarylheptanoids with an open heptane chain. The two aromatic rings are linked only by the heptane chain. Isogingerenone B is found, on average, in the highest concentration within gingers (Zingiber officinale). Isogingerenone B has also been detected, but not quantified in, herbs and spices. This could make isogingerenone b a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review a significant number of articles have been published on Isogingerenone B.
