Chemical Information
FooDB NameTriiodothyronine sulfate
DescriptionTriiodothyronine sulfate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as phenylalanine and derivatives. Phenylalanine and derivatives are compounds containing phenylalanine or a derivative thereof resulting from reaction of phenylalanine at the amino group or the carboxy group, or from the replacement of any hydrogen of glycine by a heteroatom. Triiodothyronine sulfate has been detected, but not quantified in, a few different foods, such as anatidaes (Anatidae), chickens (Gallus gallus), and domestic pigs (Sus scrofa domestica). This could make triiodothyronine sulfate a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Triiodothyronine sulfate.
