Chemical Information
FooDB Nametrans-resveratrol-2-C-glucoside
Descriptiontrans-resveratrol-2-C-glucoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as stilbenes. These are organic compounds containing a 1,2-diphenylethylene moiety. Stilbenes (C6-C2-C6 ) are derived from the common phenylpropene (C6-C3) skeleton building block. The introduction of one or more hydroxyl groups to a phenyl ring lead to stilbenoids. trans-resveratrol-2-C-glucoside is found, on average, in the highest concentration within milk (cow). trans-resveratrol-2-C-glucoside has also been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as anatidaes (Anatidae), chickens (Gallus gallus), domestic pigs (Sus scrofa domestica), grape wine, and white wine. This could make trans-resveratrol-2-C-glucoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on trans-resveratrol-2-C-glucoside.
